Some White people have more free time...

than common sense.

September 29, 2004 was Annapolis, Maryland’s unofficial “We’re Sorry For Slavery Day”.    On September 29, 1767 Kunta Kinte, the main character in Alex Haley’s book Roots, supposedly arrived at City Dock on a slave ship.  To commemorate that event, and make Whites feel bad about being White, there was a “slavery walk” sponsored by London based Lifeline Expedition.

On Wednesday, September 29th Whites adorned with chains and yokes were led thru the streets of Old Annapolis by Blacks.  Leonard Blackshear, President of the Kunta Kinte-Alex Haley Foundation, Inc. was previously quoted by The Baltimore Sun as saying the walk will “represent reconciliation, penitence and forgiveness between the races over slavery.”

Although neither penitent nor seeking forgiveness, SecondAmendment.net deeply regrets that African slaves were ever imported to the Americas.  Here’s the flyer (180 Kb PDF) that we sent by first-class mail to businesses and residents along the route of the “slavery walk”.
